Newsletter #4 July 2010
Greetings from Conference Chair
Conference is almost here! We have had a busy week working with registrations, proceedings and programmes and making sure everything is ship shape around the place. Today the IT staff were busy filling your conference bags, complete with beanies!
Arrivals
There will be Otago Polytechnic van transport at the airport on Tuesday morning and for departures on Friday. Outside these times delegates’ arrivals are intermittent so you will need to use the local shuttle company, Supershuttle; the cost for this is $28 for the first person and $10 for each additional person.
Workshops
There are still places in most of these, so if you haven’t registered let me know and I’ll add you to the list. Unfortunately we have had to cancel the Wikis and Blogs workshop, but if you would like to hear what Michael Verhaart has been doing in this area I’m sure he would be happy to chat with you during the conference. Remember that lunch and afternoon tea for workshop attendees is upstairs at Ozone, alongside the teachers group.
Cocktail evening - Tuesday 6.00pm – 8pm
On Tuesday evening we have a Cisco sponsored cocktail evening for all conference attendees, including the teachers group, workshop attendees and any other delegates who have arrived in town. We have Dunedin’s finest jazz band performing and delectable food on offer from our resident chef so come along to Ozone for a delightful evening.
Maps etc
You can find us now on this Google map http://www.tinyurl.com/citrenz-map. Zoom in and take a look around. The entire conference will be hosted at Otago Polytechnic, Harbour Terrace entrance, Dunedin. We are based in the Ozone Lounge, upstairs at Manaaki – our student centre. Come there first for registration and coffee breaks. Workshops and conference sessions will be held in D Block and in G block. There are computers and printers available for your use in the Ozone Lounge.
